The University of RI / Providence Public Schools Partnership

PACE and GAP page for Central High

The Partnership for Access to College and Employment (PACE) was developed to coincide with the restructuring efforts of the Providence Public Schools. PACE targets approximately 600 students enrolled in the O House at Hope High, the Challenge House at Central High, the Alternate Learning Project, and the Chamber of Commerce Academy.

PACE activities include team building for teachers, precollege activities for students, tutoring and mentoring, and lots of exciting opportunities for Central High students.

GAP is the University of RI's Guaranteed Admissions Program, which provides a contract of terms for selected Central students that, if fulfilled, will guarantee them admission to the University. It provides complete support services and activities to the selected students in a nurturing, enjoyable environment during their high school years.
